Significant budget shortfalls have been raised as a concern by Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o, who informed MPs that various multi-million government projects have been hindered from being audited.
It was emphasized that the constitutional duties of her office are being hampered by the budget deficit.
While appearing before the National Assembly’s Constitutional Implementation Oversight Committee (CIOC), an unfair salary structure within her office was also pointed to as another challenge affecting efficiency.
