Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has reorganized his cabinet to enhance service delivery.
Samson Ojwang’ will continue as the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Health Services and Sanitation and will now also handle Public Service Management. Chanelle Kittony, the CECM for Roads and Public Works, will take on additional duties as the CECM for Gender, Youth, Sports, and Culture.
Pepela Wanjala, the CECM for Finance and Economic Planning, will temporarily assume the role of CECM for Water, Environment, Natural Resources, and Climate Change. Phanice Khatundi will maintain her position overseeing Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock, and Fisheries, while also acting as the CECM for Lands, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban Development. Patrick Gacheru will continue as the CECM for Trade and Industrialization.
In a controversial move, Governor Natembeya retained Janerose Mutama in the cabinet despite her impeachment by the County Assembly of Trans Nzoia. She has been moved from the Department of Lands, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban Development to the Department of Education and Vocational Training.
