An evening meeting on Monday, August 26, at State House brought together top officials from the Aviation Workers Union and key government representatives to address the contentious JKIA-Adani deal. Despite these discussions, no agreement was reached to prevent a looming strike, the Nation has learned.
Chaired by President William Ruto and attended by Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir and Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua, the meeting sought to convince the union to cancel the strike planned for September 1, in order to avoid a potential crisis in the aviation sector.
