Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga recently hosted a delegation from the National Defence College (NDC) at the County Headquarters in Nyeri Town.
Strengthening Leadership in Security and Public Policy
The delegation, led by Major General Yahya Sheikh Abdi, highlighted the NDC’s mission to equip senior military officers and high-ranking civil servants with the skills needed for managing security and other public policy areas.
The current NDC cohort includes participants from 15 countries: Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Collaboration and Engagement
Governor Kahiga, joined by Deputy Governor David Kinaniri and County Secretary Benjamin Gachichio, expressed his appreciation for the NDC’s role in fostering regional and international cooperation in leadership and security.
The meeting emphasized the importance of collaboration between military, civil, and local leadership in addressing contemporary security challenges and enhancing public service delivery.
