The ODM leadership has summoned Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, County Assembly Speaker James Namatsi, and former Majority Leader Philip Maina over ongoing disputes in the assembly’s leadership.
On Wednesday, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna stated that the three had been obstructing the party’s decision to replace Maina with Geoffrey Ondiro as the new majority leader.
The summons follows a petition filed by ODM Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to the party’s Central Management Committee, protesting Maina’s reorganization of assembly committees.
